SAP will serve as the foundation for Databricks' core finance processes, including Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash. As an SAP Developer, you'll be hands-on-keyboard building the layer that makes those processes intelligent: side-by-side extensions on BTP, event-driven integrations into the Lakehouse, and AI-assisted workflows that automate routine work and guide users through exceptions and approvals. You'll build with modern SAP and Databricks AI tooling—combining SAP’s core ERP capabilities with Databricks-native AI, agentic applications, and automation—while keeping the SAP digital core clean, scalable, and upgradable. Your mission is to turn designs into robust, production-grade software that combines the strength of SAP with the power of Databricks AI.

What it asks for · 5

  • SAP BTP: Working-to-advanced experience with BTP runtimes, core services (Connectivity, Destination, XSUAA/auth), and deploying, securing, and operating apps on the platform.
  • Front End: Solid experience with SAP Fiori concepts, SAPUI5, and Fiori Elements (OData v4).
  • Integration: Experience with SAP Integration Suite / API Management and event-driven patterns (OData/REST, IDoc, Cloud Integration, Event Mesh) across hybrid landscapes.
  • AI Fluency: Strong understanding of SAP and Databricks AI capabilities, with practical knowledge of generative AI and agentic concepts—including RAG, prompt engineering, grounding, tool calling, and enterprise AI governance. Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications and workflows on Databricks and integrating them with SAP is a strong plus.
  • Experience building applications on modern data platforms (such as Databricks) that extend or sit alongside SAP.

Also a plus

  • Domain knowledge in finance, procurement, or supply chain that speeds delivery and requirements understanding.
  • Experience extending or customizing Joule agents via SAP Build / Joule Studio, or building agents on SAP AI Foundation.
  • Experience building applications on modern data platforms (such as Databricks) that extend or sit alongside SAP.
  • Cloud-native experience—containerization and Kubernetes (Kyma), observability, and scalability patterns.
  • SAP certification in ABAP, SAP BTP, or SAP Build, and prior work in a high-growth technology company.

What the job covers

  • Build Clean-Core Extensions: Develop in-app and side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP that keep the S/4HANA digital core clean and upgrade-ready, using released APIs and extension points rather than core modifications.
  • Develop Databricks-Native Applications: Build scalable, full-stack applications and services on the Databricks platform that extend and integrate with SAP, leveraging Databricks-native capabilities, APIs, data services, and AI/agentic tooling to deliver modern Finance experiences while keeping the SAP core clean.
  • Build Integrations: Implement secure, resilient integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite, event-driven patterns, APIs, OData v4, and change-data feeds into the Databricks Lakehouse, with solid error handling and monitoring.
  • Embed AI & Agentic Capabilities: Build AI-powered and agentic capabilities into Finance workflows using Databricks AI, integrating seamlessly with SAP and other enterprise systems. Apply RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, and human-in-the-loop controls to automate processes safely while maintaining governance and auditability
  • Move SAP Data to the Lakehouse: Partner with data engineering to build the pipelines and extraction patterns (CDC, OData, APIs) that land SAP data in Databricks cleanly, with attention to modeling, lineage, and data quality.
  • Engineer for Quality: Write unit and integration tests, work within CI/CD and transport pipelines for ABAP and BTP artifacts, participate in code reviews, and follow the team's security and coding standards.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the technical lead, functional experts, and product owners to turn requirements and designs into working software, and iterate quickly based on user feedback.

How this page was made

An automated read of a public job posting, fetched August 25, 2026 and last changed by Databricks on August 18, 2026. Every list above is pulled from the posting’s own sentences — nothing rewritten, nothing added, no judgment about the role or the company. Counts and seniority are read off the text by rule, so they can be wrong where the posting is unusual. The original is the only thing that binds. Openings close without warning; check the source before spending an evening on it.
