Our revenue accounting environment is evolving rapidly — new SKUs, new go-to-market motions, shifting policy requirements and system migrations are the norm. We need someone who thrives in ambiguity, adapts when priorities shift and sees change as an opportunity. Our ideal candidate has a builder's mindset: someone who digs into the details, questions why things are done a certain way and proactively identifies opportunities to automate, streamline and scale.
What it asks for · 7
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting
- 5+ years of combined experience in public accounting and/or a corporate revenue accounting role
- Solid understanding of ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition principles, with the ability to apply judgment to non-standard arrangements
- Operational accounting experience at a rapidly growing company, including familiarity with quote-to-cash processes (order review, contract creation, billing, revenue recognition)
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal supervision, prioritize effectively and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Proficient with Excel (complex spreadsheets and calculations), NetSuite and Salesforce
- Track record of identifying inefficiencies and building or advocating for automation solutions
Also a plus
- CPA or equivalent
- Database and SQL experience — we value accountants who can query data directly rather than waiting for a report
- Track record of identifying inefficiencies and building or advocating for automation solutions
What the job covers
- Own the close, end to end. Perform monthly close activities including usage review, journal entry preparation, flux analyses, account reconciliations and analytics — and continuously look for ways to compress the timeline.
- Apply ASC 606 with precision and judgment. Ensure proper application of ASC 606 to customer contracts, including assessing non-standard terms, documenting accounting conclusions and navigating evolving policy interpretations as our product portfolio grows.
- Dig into the details. Pull, validate and troubleshoot data yourself — contract details, system outputs and data discrepancies. You are not waiting for someone to hand you a clean dataset.
- Automate relentlessly. Identify manual, repetitive processes and take ownership of building or championing automation — whether that means writing SQL queries, building scripts, designing workflow improvements or partnering with engineering to implement systematic fixes.
- Leverage AI to work smarter. Use AI tools and large language models (LLMs) to accelerate routine tasks — drafting memos, analyzing large datasets, building reconciliation templates, summarizing contract terms or prototyping process improvements.
- Support financial reporting. Prepare key metrics, financial statement disclosures and ad hoc analyses for management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in a dynamic reporting environment.
- Collaborate across functions. Partner with Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, Billing, FP&A and FDS teams to implement systematic processes and automation that support scalability and new business initiatives.
- Support the audit with confidence. Prepare schedules, document controls, participate in walkthroughs and liaise with auditors — bringing organized, well-documented workpapers that reflect a deep understanding of the underlying transactions.
- Drive process improvement. Don't just close the books — make the close better every month. Identify bottlenecks, propose solutions and execute on improvements that accelerate the cycle and reduce risk.
