As a Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer, you will guide customers in building big data solutions on Databricks that span a large variety of use cases. This is a customer-facing role that works with and supports the Field Engineering pre-sales teams and requires hands-on production experience with cloud infrastructure and big data technologies. Specialist Solutions Engineers help customers through the design and successful implementation of essential workloads while aligning their technical roadmap to expand the use of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. As a deep go-to-expert reporting to the Specialist Field Engineering Manager, you will continue to strengthen your technical skills through mentorship, learning, and internal training programs to continuously consolidate the skills in your area of speciality.

- Pre-sales or post-sales experience working with external customers (or internal clients/stakeholders) across industries
- 4+ years of experience designing Cloud infrastructure/Security and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, applying best practices in cloud security and networking, including:
- Architecting, designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud networks and connectivity (VPC/VNet design, routing, segmentation, private connectivity).
- Identity & Access Management (e.g. role-based access control, using the principle of least privilege, integration with IdPs, etc)
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure automation (e.g. Terraform or cloud-specific resource management tools like ARM, CloudFormation, etc).
- Experience supporting customers (external or internal) in designing and implementing a security lakehouse/security data platform on Databricks to augment SIEM, enable security analytics and threat hunting, and build advanced detections.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, vibe coding and agentic tools
- Foundational knowledge of large-scale processing/analytical engines for data pipeline architecture design.
- Databricks Certification(s) will be advantageous for the role.
- This will be an office-based contract (Amsterdam), with a hybrid schedule, requiring up to 30% travel when needed for customer visits, events & trainings.
- An initial 12-month fixed-term contract is to be offered, with the expectation of extending/converting to FTE upon successful completion of the probation period.
