We're looking for someone who's spent their career doing the hands-on work of occupational health and safety — running inspections, investigating incidents, managing cases through to closure, supporting committees and emergency response teams, and getting employees engaged in the programs we run. This is a tactical, execution-focused role: you'll operate the programs we have, contribute to the ones we're building, and free up the EHS Lead to focus on the broader strategy and the specialty environments (biolabs, data centers, robotics) that need dedicated attention.
What it asks for · 8
- Have 7+ years of experience in a similar hands-on H&S role, ideally with time spent operating H&S programs day-to-day
- Have strong working knowledge of US federal OSHA and California Title 8 (Cal/OSHA) requirements; familiarity with other US states (Washington, New York) is a plus
- Are comfortable being the H&S expert in the room — translating regulatory requirements into clear decisions, and pushing back when something isn't safe
- Are passionate about workplace H&S, and bring that energy to the people you work with
- Have an ability to motivate and persuade others to collaborate, take action, and engage with H&S-related programs
- Are resilient and adaptable in fast-paced, dynamic environments — comfortable with ambiguity and able to prioritize when everything looks urgent
- Write clear, useful SOPs, playbooks, and program documents, and can create engaging presentations and training content
- Have hands-on experience with software tools for H&S incident reporting, risk assessment, learning management, and related functions
Also a plus
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or another H&S-related field
- Certifications such as CSP, ASP/GSP, CIH, or COHN — or comparable US-recognized H&S/occupational-health credentials
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems)
- Background in occupational health, fire safety, or industrial hygiene
- Experience operating H&S programs across multiple US states or sites
- Excellent computer skills — quick to pick up new applications and systems at the user and/or administrator level
