- Experience testing, debugging, monitoring, and improving mobile software in production.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, design, and other technical and non-technical partners.
- A demonstrated commitment to building high-quality user and developer experiences.
Also a plus
- Experience building mobile SDKs, shared libraries, or developer-facing APIs used outside your immediate team.
- Experience with both iOS and Android, or with cross-platform technologies such as React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform.

- Experience with mobile CI, automated testing, release automation, observability, or developer-productivity tooling.
- Experience contributing to backend APIs or services that support mobile products.
- Ability to simplify complex requirements and favor durable, scalable solutions.
What the job covers
- Design, build, and maintain Stripe Identity’s mobile SDKs and verification experiences across iOS, Android, and React Native.
- Create intuitive, polished experiences for complex flows such as identity-document and selfie capture, while accounting for accessibility, device capabilities, and varied real-world conditions.
- Build reliable and extensible SDK APIs and reusable components that make it easy for developers to integrate Stripe Identity into their applications.
- Work across mobile clients, supporting APIs, and services to deliver features end to end rather than treating the mobile application as an isolated layer.
- Improve SDK performance, reliability, observability, testing, release processes, and backward compatibility.
- Make thoughtful architectural decisions that balance user experience, developer experience, security, privacy, and long-term maintainability.
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, machine-learning engineers, backend engineers, user researchers, and other mobile teams.
- Work with Stripe users and field teams to understand integration challenges and turn their feedback into product and platform improvements.
- Help establish and evolve mobile-engineering practices across Identity and Stripe.
- Operate and maintain the systems and SDKs the team owns, including diagnosing production issues and improving them based on what we learn.
